This piece was commissioned by a client who works in an asylum center. He wanted a lighthearted illustration to display in his office, something his residents could enjoy and find comfort in.

 

The client wanted to balance the reality of  an underfunded, overstretched environment with the joy of an asylum seeker finding safety and refuge.

The illustration explores the idea of community within a transient space. A moment of connection in a place defined by change.
